Miami Herald's newspaper production facility in Miami, Florida was designed to accommodate color printing presses.

Speight Marshall Francis served as Structural Engineer of Record for a new three-story, 119,000 sf. newspaper press production facility and 160,000 sf office to replace their existing facility. The press hall houses three printing presses valued at over 60 million dollars. The press hall, designed for heavy floor loadings, is high-bay with 50-60’ clear spans. Included in the scope was the design for 5 and 50-ton bridge cranes. The construction includes concrete tilt-up bearing walls designed by the General Contractor’s Engineer. $50M.
