Strategically situated at the intersection of Coliseum Drive and Pine Chapel Road, the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex spans an impressive 67,000 square feet. The facility features a range of amenities that cater to the diverse needs of athletes and spectators alike.

At the heart of the aquatics center is the eight-lane, 50-meter competition pool, equipped with two moveable bulkheads to accommodate various event layouts. Adding to the excitement are two one-meter and two three-meter springboards, empowering divers to showcase their skills. With a seating capacity of 1,500, including a mezzanine, spectators are guaranteed a front-row view of the thrilling competitions. Athletes can enjoy on-deck seating for up to 760 individuals, ensuring their comfort and convenience throughout their aquatic endeavors.

For those seeking a more versatile swimming experience, the facility boasts a 25-meter program pool, adding another layer of functionality to the aquaplex. And for those sunny Virginia days, an outdoor splash park awaits, providing a refreshing and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.

With a staunch commitment to practicality and efficiency, the structure of the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex is primarily composed of sturdy masonry bearing walls, fortified by steel joists and beams in the roof and mezzanine areas. This engineering collaboration allows for a robust and sustainable facility that can withstand the demands of heavy foot traffic and dynamic aquatic activities.

The concept for the competition swimming facility project was spearheaded under the Public-Private Education and Infrastructure Act (PPEA) guidelines. The City of Hampton financed this extraordinary endeavor, ensuring the construction of a world-class venue that serves the community's growing needs.
