Acoustical Sheetmetal Company Expansion
The 235,000 square foot expansion contributes to the economic growth of Virginia Beach and it’s surrounding areas by increased production as well as the 200+ jobs made available once the new facility opened its doors in 2022.
A manufacturer of protective enclosures and other power generation materials, Acoustical Sheetmetal Company (ASC) sought a larger facility to better appease the needs of their customers and their increasing number of orders. Situated on 20 acres adjacent to Princess Anne Commons office park near Landstown Commons in Virginia Beach, ASC employs workers with limited employment opportunities. Many of their employees include recent welding graduates, metal fabricators and manufacturing electricians.
With over 10,000 square feet of mezzanine space encompassing administrative office space, this new facility also supplies enough space to accommodate three indoor cranes. Each crane is positioned in it's own bay totaling a max capacity of 120 tons. Apart from housing cranes, ASC’s enlarged warehouse also allows for the production of projects much larger in size than previously abled. The new warehouse increases storage space for materials to accommodate the inevitable schedule changes of their clients.
This tremendous project was endorsed by many organizations including Virginia Economic Development Partnership, City of Virginia Beach, and the Hampton Roads Alliance who saw the astounding benefits of the VB based ASC Headquarters. Apart from this support, previous Governor Northam declared his backing with a grant of $750,000 from Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund. Speight Marshall Francis is profoundly grateful to serve as Structural Engineer of Record and Agent 1 Special Inspector for this Pre-Engineered Metal Building Design Build.
