Speight Marshall Francis served as Structural Engineer of Record and Agent 1 Special Inspector for this urban 206,665 square foot mixed-use project consisting of two levels of below grade parking, ground floor commercial and five levels of apartments. The 166 apartment units are wood construction. Podium is partially underground and is post-tensioned concrete. Parking garage required a multi-level retaining wall. Luxury amenities include a rooftop terrace, fitness center, interior courtyard and pool. The retail portion of this complex, located at 0 West Marshall Street, offers shopping and dining options that compliment this walkable neighborhood.

In 2020 AIA Richmond recognized The Penny with a Merit Award for superior design excellence.​​​​​​​
