Five Two Five Apartments incorporates adaptive reuse and historic renovation of the former Kempsville High School at the corner of Kempsville Road & Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach, VA.

Speight Marshall Francis served as Structural Engineer of Record and Agent 1 Special Inspector for this unique apartment complex which mixes new and renovated elements.  “The Schoolhouse” is an adaptive reuse of an existing two-story 1940's school building into loft apartments.  “The Landings” are new three-story apartment buildings. A section of the complex called “The Cottages” was also designed which are single-story stand-alone housing structures.

These uniquely designed apartments incorporate features such as exposed brick walls, oversized windows, and high-end details including hardwood flooring, garden tubs, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. The dynamic clubroom features 3 fitness rooms, a lounge beside the resort-style pool, and a fire pit.
