GOVERNMENT
Local, state, and federal government projects require comprehensive knowledge of DIVERSE regulations, laws and building types. We welcome the challenge to find economical solutions for the elevated code and load requirements that often accompany this market sector.
Much
practical knowledge has been gained on government
projects over the years from working with Government
Officials and Design/Build Contractors. We have
experience with the BCOM review process through
our Commonwealth of Virginia projects. Through
our federal government project experience we
have become familiar with Military CAD Standards,
SpecsIntact, United Facilities Criteria (UFC
Code), Blast Design, and Progressive Collapse.
The P-235 Administrative
Facility at Naval Station Norfolk, as one
example, was designed to meet DoD anti-terrorism
and force protection standards including structural
features to prevent progressive collapse. Sustainable
design features and construction practices were
also incorporated.
